This is ungrown eggplant called Ishi-Nasu in Japan.
The eggplant is very hard like stone.
Moreover , it has a lot of shape aculeus
Can you see the aculeus?
When touching it, I felt shape pain.

I have growing four eggplants under the same condition until now.
Nevertheless
Only one eggplant is undergrown
The eggplant leaves are eaten by insects and full of holes.
It may be the cause of being Ishi-Nasu.
I have no idea except it.

これは「石茄子」と云われる生長不良の茄子だ。
石のようにとても硬い。
さらに、たくさんの鋭いとげを持っている。
とげが見えますか。
触ると鋭い痛みを感じる。

今まで、同じ条件化で４株トマトを栽培してきている。
にもかかわらず
１株だけ生長が悪い。
この茄子の葉は虫に喰われて穴だらけ。
虫が原因かも知れない。
それ以外、思い当たる節がない。

Only one tomato is growing extraordinarily.
It looks like twice as large as other tomatoes.

１個のトマトだけが異常に生長している。
他のトマトの２倍あるようだ。

今日の収穫

I gathered three Okra fruits for the first time, this morning.
They were still short in length.

今朝、初めて、オクラ３個を摘み取った。
まだ短い。

I gather a lot of common beans everyday.
And, I cook them as the ingredient of various dishes everyday.

毎日、たくさんのインゲンを摘み取っている。
そして、毎日、いろいろな料理の具として使っている。

Hi Kura-san!!! Sometimes, a hard eggplant grows in my vegetable gardenn. I did not know that it was called a stone eggplant. The cause of the stone eggplant was poor in growth, wasn't it? Hi! hiro-san It seemed that eggplant fruit got to be Ishi-Nasu on account of imperfect fertilization（受精）. In fact, I have no idea why that is happened I am going to keep my eye on the eggplant, from now on . Thanks.	Kura 2008/07/11 13:56
