I have watched two interesting pieces of TV programs, lately,
One of those was a program titled "Unmei-no-Itte"
This program was the record on the theme of which it confronted the computer with human in shogi.
The champion of computer shogi named "Bonanza" played against Watanabe Ryu-O , who is one of the strongest players in professional shogi world .
Can the computer beat human in shogi ?

According to Wikipedia .
It explains about computer shogi as follows

“it is currently estimated that the strongest program is prefecture champion class (around amateur 5-dan)."

“In games with time limits of 10 seconds from the first move, computers are becoming a tough challenge for even professional shogi players."

"In 2005, the Japan Shogi Association sent a message to professional shogi players and women professionals, telling them that they should not compete against a computer in public without permission. “

Nevertheless.
The game started.
One mistake steered the "Bonanza" to defeat.
As a result, Watanabe Ryu-O beat the "Bonanza" by a hair's breadth.
However.
I really felt with watching that the computer would surpass in professional shogi playesrs, soon

Hi! Kura-san
I watched the match, a professional shogi player vs. a computer, by recording, too.
The face of Ryu-O has been very serious, in contrast, Bonanza, its face, has been expressed with an enormous number.

Above all things, I was surprised at the fact that a developer of Bonanza was a human being.
As you say, literally, Bonanza's year may come in the near future.
By the way, a meaning of bonanza is interesting in a dictionary, which seems to be considerably expected from computer software firms.

Hi! G clef-san
Certainly, the developer of Bonanza was a Hoki, who was thirty-one years old ,and was working at Tohoku university..
He made up the shogi software “Bonanza” included every move, which the percentage of wins was the highest, from the past record of professional syogi
However, he was not strong in playing real shogi ,no ,he was rather weak.

Little did I think that both of them, which were the ability of development of shogi software and that of playing of shogi, were independent of each other.

Attractive is the Bonanza for lover of shogi.
I have always bought the strongest shogi software, such as Todai-Shogi
So,
I may buy the Bonanza, if it brings for new goods to market,

According to English-English dictionary
It explains about the meaning of bonanza as follows.
"A lucky or successful situation in which people can make a lot of money"
I see.
Computer software firms may gain by the sale of bonanza.

Hi! Kura-san
Some people are wise, and some are not.
I am the latter, so seldom wise in playing game. (laugh...)
I like watching a splendid match such as Yoshiharu Habu, who has ever won all 7 major titles and has a superior brain, besides, it is great to continue keeping it up to now.

Another meaning of bonanza is originally from U.S. in the early 19th century, which means very rich vein pocket of ore such as coal, diamond, gold and tin mining, which is especially in reference to a success of mining.
In addition, it comes from Spanish, which means, literally, a fair weather and a prosperity, and then from Latin bonus good.

Hi! G clef-san
It was splendid achievement that Yoshiharu Habu has ever won all 7 major title, wasn't it?
So far, all of professional syogi players have continued the study of shogi hard every day, with dreaming of acquisition of a title.
In spite of their efforts, he was outstanding as a shogi player.
I thought that he must have been excel in incomparable talent.
